  • Bristol Doctoral College
    For postgraduate researchers, the Doctoral College is there to support your development and enhance your experience with training, events and opportunities.
  • Research supervisors
    All postgraduate research students have a main supervisor who is your primary point of contact for academic guidance.
  • Annual progress monitoring (APM)
    The annual progress monitoring review process gives you the chance to reflect on your progress and confirm your plans for your next year of study.
  • Assessments and exams
    Guidance on examiners, submitting the dissertation (thesis), viva (oral exam), receiving corrections (feedback), resubmission payment, uploading to the library and delaying public access.
  • Annual leave
    All postgraduate research students should take annual leave (holiday) from their studies.
